The World through the eyes of Poetry!

Image
The topic of this week's lesson was poetry, and it took me on a deep exploration of its complexities. At first, I noticed that I tended to appreciate poetry with caution, preferring to keep the poet's message simple. We began the lesson with a fun icebreaker that asked us to share our opinions about poetry. I realized the potential complexity presented by different literary methods, even while I acknowledged that I loved it within the confines of my comprehension. I taught in many different grades before going to college, and I concentrated on teaching rhymes and simple poetry forms. In last weeks class we studied' stanzas' and rhyming systems this week as we dug further into poetry. My eyes were awakened to the depths of significance found in poetry via analyzing poems such as "The Sea is a hungry dog" and "The Flattered Flying Fish." Our lecturer's chapter on poetry writing broadened my understanding and offered helpful advice for instructing p

The World of Poetry!

In this week’s session we focused on poetry that I will reflect on. While we were exploring poetry, I felt that poetry is a beautiful form of expression that allows us to delve into the depths of emotions and experiences. Some others indicated their disliked of this complex art form. For me the use of figurative language, rhythm and imagery creates a unique and captivating experience for both the writer and the reader.   During the session, students were chosen at random to recite the poem titled “The Sea” and “The Flattered Flying fish” and looked at the structure of the poems and the literacy devices that were used. I have a love for poem and it was clear to me to figure it out. I was able to recognize rhymes in the poem with the same endings and even counted the rhymes all with the same ending. I was able to count the rhyme scheme of a poem. It’s exciting to make progress in understanding  poetry. A  breakthrough moment in teaching poetry is when students start recognizing and c

Poetry possesses the ability to evoke emotions and establish a meaningful connection with its audience by means of judiciously selected vocabulary and striking visuals. This profound emotional involvement functions as a formidable incentive for learners to explore the realm of literature, cultivating an affinity for reading and inspiring them to perform poetry recitations, thus facilitating the enhancement of their oral communication proficiencies.  In contrast to pros

Descriptive Writing Workshop

Image
The experience of participating in a descriptive writing workshop offered me an opportunity for growth and development as a teacher.  Throughout this blog, I will reflect on the workshop's planning and execution      In a lucid ice-breaker activity, student teachers were paired up on a mini-date and asked to describe their favorite food and place without mentioning any names.  As a whole, I found this activity to be exciting and engaging for everyone-an integral part of the learning process.      Following, my group members and I delved into the content of the workshop.  Descriptive writing was defined, along with some of its purposes.  Descriptive writing employs vivid and sensory language to create intricate mental images, eliciting emotions and effectively conveying information. I think that students who master this skill are equipped to communicate their emotions, observations, and thoughts vividly and connect with others on a deeper level. Additionally, descriptive wri
