My Personal Reflection on The Teaching of Writing

        I can't help but think back on my writing philosophy before enrolling in this course as I began my adventure as a writing teacher. Writing has proven to be a difficult component of Language Arts for me since students don't seem to enjoy it. That, in my opinion, is mostly due to the way it is taught and the fact that people have difficulty expressing themselves. Writing can occasionally feel like a tedious, drawn-out process to teachers. which I have observed over my years as a teacher. I only assign descriptive writing and image sequencing to my kids; I never really got them to write anything in-depth. Despite this, I have always appreciated a "good" piece of writing since I enjoy reading.       I now think that writing instruction is vitally necessary. The Writing Process and 6+1 Traits

       During our previous class, we explored "The Writing Process" as well as "The 6+1 Traits of Writing".          Writing is, for me, this ever-changing, non-linear journey along which I discover a unique way to put thoughts into words.  The entire process can be broken down into five stages, such as prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. Because the process is inherently recursive, I find it especially freeing. At any point, one can go back and review their methods to make them better.        The 6+1 Traits of Writing is more than a method of education; it highlights the complex landscape of writing, in my opinion. A thorough framework for navigating all aspects of the writing process, it addresses the essential elements of ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, and presentation. The World of Poetry!

In this week’s session we focused on poetry that I will reflect on. While we were exploring poetry, I felt that poetry is a beautiful form of expression that allows us to delve into the depths of emotions and experiences. Some others indicated their disliked of this complex art form. For me the use of figurative language, rhythm and imagery creates a unique and captivating experience for both the writer and the reader.   During the session, students were chosen at random to recite the poem titled “The Sea” and “The Flattered Flying fish” and looked at the structure of the poems and the literacy devices that were used. I have a love for poem and it was clear to me to figure it out. I was able to recognize rhymes in the poem with the same endings and even counted the rhymes all with the same ending.
